As to transferring data from stuff - basically none of this software is written. It will be added eventually, with most popular devices arriving first.
As to mapping - the problem is the data. http://www.openstreetmap.org/ is of use, or it's likely there will be google-maps using software (though that legally requires an active connection, as you can't download them). openstreetmap is a prototype application page.
