What this page is about:
As I have switched quite a bit between SHR-Testing, SHR-Unstable, Hackable-1 rev5, QTMoko v19, and Android RC02, I have been inspired by Graziano to give something back to the community, which will be a comparison between SHR and Android on Freerunner; in that respect it is different from Grazianos page comparing
Android vs SHR on freerunner preformance
rather than Android on HTC vs SHR on freerunner. As the stable release of SHR is just around the corner I will wait for that one before I fill in the fields of SHR.
Generally speaking I much prefer SHR as it is GPL, though running the latest Android for freerunner release I have to say Android just shows that the freerunner is indeed a nice responsive smartphone and that is what I would like to own in the end (response, good webbrowsing, good call quality (not there yet in Android), easy input, easy connecting to either Wifi (toggle button on homescreen) or GPRS fully controllable by the user, navigation, maps, a keep gps on but turn screen off button to save battery when you know your way).
Hardware
Since almost 2 years I own a Freerunner A6 + Buzzfix and use it as a daily phone even though this includes complaints from friends about call quality.

xScope just is great; very fast scrolling; adapts text to screen width; zoom in/out via tap, tap, slide(left=out, right=in), which works very nicely on the freerunner
