it is absolutely useless to write these arguments out because '''EVERYBODY''' knows what the tar arguments xzf and czf mean - oh and btw in recent versions of tar you can leave out the f parameter.

Well my omniscient Unix wizard. Nodody prevents you to acually type 'tar xzf' in your terminal if you are instructed to enter the command 'tar --extract --gzip --file'.
