OpenMoko uses GSM so any GSM provider should be compatible. This is a breakdown of OpenMoko-compatible providers around the world. Please help by filling this out alphabetically:

  • Zapp is running CDMA (Qualcomm style) and as such it is incompatible with Neo1973. Future versions of the Neo1973 may come with a CDMA-capable baseband chip or FIC may release both GSM- and CDMA- enabled versions sometime in the future.

Taiwan

  • Please add to the list.

United States

  • Cingular - soon to be AT&T
  • T-Mobile
  • Other (more local) GSM-network providers can be found at GSMworld.com
  • UNICEL - local provider in various parts of the US not listed at GSM world above, has GPRS and EDGE in New England US.

Rest of World (Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, South America)

  • almost all use GSM thus they are compatible
