Professional
I'm a freelance consultant specializing in Linux and free and open source software, though more recently I've been considering a full time gig should the right opportunity appear. I got into Linux in 1993. With regards to software development, I try to work mainly on system level programming jobs including device drivers and embedded Linux systems. Karym Yaghmour who wrote O'Reilly's Building Embedded Linux Systems book is an old friend and college of mine. On the administration side of things, I'm a Red Hat Certified Engineer, Red Hat Certified Architect, Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (and Instructor/Examiner). In fact, I'm the first and only RHCA in Canada.
Personal
I've lived in Montreal for the past 10 years though I've been travelling alot in the past couple of years. I'm an avid cyclist. I own 6-7 bicycles. I like to drink good coffee, preferably espresso style.
How To Contact Me
You can drop me an message from the contact form on my website: http://www.linuxmontreal.com.
Telephone
You can try reaching me at 514-312-7072. This is my magical SIP number. Sometimes it doesn't work, like when I forget to top it up.
IRC
I go by the nick notserpe on IRC. I try to hang on #openmoko on irc.freenode.net as much as I can but it isn't currently as much as I'd like.
Projects
MokoSport
If you look on projects.openmoko.org you'll find the project I've started to use the Neo as a bicycling computer. Others have expressed interest in using it also as a running computer so that is another idea behind the project. The offical site is http://mokosport.projects.openmoko.org.
MokoGammon
I've also recently learned how to play backgammon and so I've created this project with the intent of having a handset-to-handset playable game of backgammon. The official site is http://mokogammon.projects.openmoko.org.
MokoSize
I've taken some preliminary measurements of my GTA01Bv4 Neo1973 with my digital micrometer. I haven't had a chance to finish the sketches or measurements but here's a preliminary image...[[Image:]]
