Talk:Why Not QT
From Openmoko
--"counter propaganda piece..."
It doesn't matter which side of the fence you fall on, it's still propaganda ... not 'counter propaganda'
..I'm just saying...
Propaganda
3. the particular doctrines or principles propagated by an organization or movement. [1]
Counter
4. something that is opposite or contrary to something else. [2]
There is no fence, it's the lawn and the street.
You hightlight the facts and still miss the point. It's always propaganda, regardless of who is saying it. Your street/lawn reference makes no sense. Sorry.
Good lord. Your entire diatribe here could be summarised by the statement "we don't use Qt, therefore you shouldn't use Qt". Nowhere here is there anything that says "we didn't choose to use Qt because...". Really, is there any point in this article being on the wiki at all? - BlueLightning 02:19, 2 December 2007 (CET)
Yes that is what he is saying and it even makes sense... if you are going to make qt apps you will run qutopia to power your phone not openmoko. If you are running open moko, you should use gtk apps. The article is not about why they chose gtk over qt... just about why apps for openmoko phones should be gtk. Open is about choices. Openmoko made one choice and qutopia another... one isn't wrong, they are just both different. There is not even anything wrong with taking a qutopia app and making a gtk app out of it so it "fits" well with open moko or vice versa. --Len 03:42, 3 December 2007 (CET)
