- Usb flash drive support. - Predictive input. Any small keypad, even with full letter set, will be slow, so predictive will help. The predictive dictionary and word prefs should be totally editable. - An alternative to qwerty, even if just the letters in alphabetic order.

- firefox rendering browser. - Abiword & Gnumeric. - Ease of adding Skype.

- Upgradable hardware modules - Differently styled cases for same phone selectable to taste

LiMo Foundation

I've just read that there has been created a foundation ("LiMo Foundation") for developing a "Linux-based, open mobile communication device software platform". It's founded by some of the big electronics and mobile device companies; Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics, and Vodafone.

Maybe FIC could benefit from a membership of this and share experiences and resources with the members of the foundation?

In my opinion it could maybe give huge opportunities for FIC. --Bubbi 14:53, 31 August 2007 (CEST)

SIM Toolkit

I have not found it in the FAQ, and found only this mailing list post: will OpenMoko/FIC1973 support SIM Toolkit? I really want to buy this phone, but I need SIM Toolkit for my banking application. --Yenya 14:31, 20 September 2007 (CEST)

Other

what about a Hear Me Community page, too? I reckon we really need an easy to use SDK soon. Don't know who's task this is, though ;)--Minime 17:36, 24 July 2007 (CEST)

-- I thought about that. They should call it, "Listen Up Community". --shakthimaan 28 July 2007 (CEST)

Oh, please be patient Users. It looks like Harald Welte is doing really most of the Work in the whole OpenMoko project, including the development page. And he is some kind of burned out. He really needs a break because he already has some health problems due to deficites in sleep and food.--Tetraden 16:52, 25 July 2007 (CEST)

  • Although Harald does do a lot of work indeed he doesn't do "most" of it I'm sure. Let's give the rest of the team some credit, too :) Abraxa 15:20, 3 August 2007 (CEST)

Mailing lists and archives don't work with the general public. People are used to web interfaces. They prefer forums more than mailing lists, NNTP. If we need to reach the general masses, we need to address this community as well.--shakthimaan 28 July 2007 (CEST)

  • From what I gather the general public isn't the target audience for those communication mediums - I consider it a nice barrier to keep those out who would just generate lots of noise. I'm sure by the time FIC sells the Neo1973 to the public they'll have appropriate infrastructure to deal with the customers on a better level, e.g. phone and eMail support. Battery Charger in next dev Kit

Could you please add a Battery charger to the next Version's development Kit?

A second battery is quite useless when it can only be charged by the neo itself. It would be nice to have a charged battery when plugging the neo in, instead of waiting all the time until it is charged to a certain percentage. --Sh 14:09, 10 September 2007 (CEST)
