The following should appear below the U-Boot 1.2.0 (May 19 2007 - 06:59:48) menu on the phone's screen during a successful kernel flash: 

DFU: Switching to DFU Mode
DEVICE_CONFIGURED: 1
Enabling automatic fast charge
Starting DFU DOWNLOAD to partition 'kernel'
DFU: Switching back to Runtime mode
