Generally, mediawikis are skinnable from user-space by editing : http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Common.css . This is for the global skin, so editing is administrator-only. Users are normally able to have their own styles by creating and editing User:<Username>/<skinname>.css. The skin name is 'openmoko' I think. But I have doubts about how THIS mediawiki is setup with respect to CSS. Please let us know if it works for you.
