Openmoko™ is a project dedicated create a truly '''Open''', '''Free''' and  '''Open Source''' software collection for  '''Mobile''' phones. 

The Openmoko software, allows users and developers to transform mobile hardware platforms into unique products. Our license gives developers and users freedom to cosmetically customize their device or radically remix it. Change the wallpaper or rebuild the entire house! It grants the freedom, to transform a phone into anything: a medical tool or point of sale device a media player or just enjoy the freedom to simply install your own favourite software. 

This radical change to freedom for the user insprired FIC to spawn a company  [http://www.openmoko.com Openmoko Inc.] whose task was to create hardware from the same spirit: With '''freedom of choice''' for the components, an  '''Open configuration''' for a true  Mobile device.     

To enable even hardware changes, and to open all about what we have to say, Openmoko Inc. has released our [http://downloads.openmoko.org/CAD/ CAD] files under Creative Commons. And released the [http://downloads.openmoko.org/schematics/ schematics for our products] as we announced at  LinuxWorld 2008.

'''Openmoko Inc.''' is currently selling the [[Neo FreeRunner]] phone to advanced users and will start selling it to the general public as soon as the software is reaching a mature stage.
