A: Correct. This is the just the orginal application (grayed-out perhaps) and shifted to the right by around 200 pixels. The specifics will be up the graphics designers.

Q2: Usability-wise, it might be better to donate all the screen space to show thumbnails for the different applications and just highlight the current application "thumbnail".

Q: I think the wording in "I want to be able to quickly switch between previously run applications" is perhaps slightly misleading, perhaps "currently running applications" would be clearer?
